Access Assessment Services

DRC has qualified auditors who can carry out Barrier Free audits or Access Assessments of buildings or premises to improve access within the community as well as assessing people for mobility scooters and powerchairs for the Lottery Grants Board.

Mobility Scooter Assessments

Mobility Scooter AssessmentsYou may be eligible for a grant for a mobility scooter or powerchair from the Lottery Grants Board. You will need to complete an application pack, which are available from DRC.  Contact us here.

  • If your application to the Lottery Grants Board is successful, you will be required to attend an assessment that involves:
    • an interview
    • a trial of suitable scooters
    • training in how to operate and use the scooter
    • a home visit to ensure that the scooter is appropriate for your environment
  • The DRC’s Assessment Service is experienced in assessing people for mobility scooters and powerchairs for the Lottery Grants Board
  • Assessments can also be done for private users wishing to purchase the most suitable scooter for their needs, or receive training with their current or future scooter
